The four 650cc models that Royal Enfield has in this segment have helped it capture 96 percent of this class.

Midsize motorcycle market leader Royal Enfield has registered total wholesales of 2,04,686 motorcycles in the first three months of FY2025. This is down 1 percent on its year-ago dispatches to showrooms (April-June 2023: 2,07,171 units), but it still rules the roost in the 500-800cc market in India.

The four 650cc models Continental GT 650, Interceptor 650, Super Meteor 650 and Shotgun 650 are all powered by the same 648cc engine. These bikes continue to see strong demand and have helped prevent Royal Enfield from a higher rate of quarterly sales decline in the first quarter of FY2025.

There are a litany of models in the pipeline from the company based on this platform and the next two waiting in the wings are the Classic 650 and the Interceptor Bear 650

Likewise, in the 350-500cc sub-segment, where it has the Scram 411 and the new Himalayan 450, the company saw its Q1 FY2025 sales down by 14 percent to 9,293 units from 10,840 units a year ago.
